Soul Echo — from the Yakushima Forest

A journey,
into being born again.

Connect with the spirits of Yakushima's forest,
sharpen your five senses,
and listen to the sound of your own soul.
A journey home — to who you are, just as you were born.

SCROLL
Concept

Like the cedars of Yakushima, growing slowly.

In Yakushima's forest, time flows with a gentle, abundant ease.

Cedars that take hundreds, even thousands of years to grow.
Without competing, surrendered to the rhythm of nature,
they live quietly, and with strength.

Perhaps we, too, were never meant to compare ourselves to others,
or to keep hurrying — we may also be beings
who can grow at our own quiet pace.

iLand's forest bathing retreat is an experience
of opening the five senses inside the forest,
and letting body and mind soften into nature's time.

Feel the wind. Listen to the water. Touch a tree. Breathe deeply.

Slowly, the overthinking in your head grows quiet,
and the self that was always there
begins, little by little, to return.

Slow is enough.
As you are, is enough.

A time to tend to your own life, gently —
just like the cedars of Yakushima,
who take their time to grow.

— Yakushima Forest Retreat —

Why Yakushima

Why the forests of Yakushima.

Three things you will find only here, among all the wild places of the world.

01

A living forest from the ancient past

Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, Yakushima's primeval forest still breathes quietly — home to Jomon Sugi, a cedar said to be over seven thousand years old.

02

Stillness made of moss, mist, and water

Yakushima is famously said to have "thirty-five rainy days a month." In the soft light of mist and moss, the sounds you hear and the time you feel are nothing like the city.

03

A place that protects your solitude

We keep our groups small and choose routes away from crowds. Our lodgings are quiet places at the edge of small villages — places not on social media. Your time of doing nothing is sacred to us.
